A Heartfelt Holiday Hometown Celebration

Some say that “tis not the season” until they experience Bellefonte Victorian Christmas. This merry weekend of old-fashioned holiday entertainment, shopping, and social events embodies what is good and wholesome about this holiday of all holidays.  This is the 40th Anniversary of the Annual Bellefonte Victorian Christmas event on Friday, December 9th, 10th and 11th, 2021.

Thursday, December 9th

The Bellefonte Community Band will perform on the balcony of the Brockerhoff balcony at 6:00pm

We will gather at 6:30 pm for a short ceremony to open the weekend by the Centre County Commissioner and the Bellefonte Mayor. After the ceremony, the attendees are invited to take a walk to the Faith Centre for a cookie reception.

Friday, December 10th

Opening Ceremony Concerts

We will gather at the First Presbyterian Church on South Spring Street for the Opening Ceremony Concerts at

6:30pm for Nittany Knights and 7:30pm the Bellefonte Victorian Community Christmas Choir Concert.

The “Festival of Trees” is organized and sponsored by The Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology as part of the event weekend. This community event will help usher in the holiday season by transforming CPI into a winter wonderland, with decorated trees, entertainment, food, and   The event takes place Friday through Sunday in partnership with the Bellefonte Victorian Christmas event.

See more than 60 decorated trees, live entertainment, enjoy a basket raffle, tree competition, poinsettia sale, letters to Santa, a visit from Santa, scavenger hunt and much more!

Proceeds will help support CPI Student Organizations.

A free shuttle for Festival of Trees being held at CPI on Harrison Road will be available at the Bellefonte High School and on the Diamond. Saturday, 9 am to 6 pm.

Saturday, December 11th

Dickens Strolling Characters, Singers, & Musicians  Ebenezer Scrooge, Bob & Mrs. Cratchit and the Fezziwig’s to name a few. Play along as they engage you, the good citizens of Bellefonte and beloved visitors, in various conversations and charitable works. Be sure to hail them and each other with a hearty “Good Day” and a heartfelt “Happy Christmas!”  Sponsored by North Shore & Nittany Bald Eagle Railroad

8:30 am – 11:30 am – Breakfast with Santa & Victorian Christmas Children’s Party, Faith United Methodist Church, 512 Hughes Street.  Children are invited for free crafts and activities, plus a visit with Santa. If desired, they can also have a full breakfast for a small fee. Chip Mock Caricatures and Adam Schwartz Puppet Show.  Full Breakfast Prepared By Faith United Methodist Church Saturday, December 11th from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.  Breakfast: $6 per adults $3 per child.  Tickets at the Door

9am to 5pm – Arts & Crafts Show and Sale Dozens of artists, artisans, and crafters will be displaying their wares for holiday gifting. A lovely place to buy last minute handmade gifts. The Victorian Christmas Arts & Crafts Show is presented in cooperation with Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Association and the Bellefonte Victorian Christmas Committee.  All Venues Are Located Downtown.  The Arts & Crafts Venues locations are at the YMCA on W. High Street and outside on West Howard Street.

FREE Shuttle Bus Service & Parking

Parking is available at the Bellefonte Middle School and High School parking lots. Shuttle pick up and drop off will be at the High School and in front of the Courthouse on Allegheny Street

free shuttle for downtown and Festival of Trees at CPI on Harrison Road will be available at the High School and on the Diamond Saturday

** Parking downtown is very limited and at the Middle School, please park at the High School and take the shuttle downtown.

Victorian Teas for Children

Children’s Tea at the Little House at 115 W Howard St. behind the Centre County Historical Museum.  Parents must accompany children to the Little House.

Reservations are $12.00 per child and $12.00 at the door. Children may bring their favorite stuffed “Cuddle” with them. The Children’s Tea Party is back and better than ever!

A light lunch and teatime treats along with a beverage while listening to tales of Christmas past.

Bring your favorite doll or stuffed friend, as they are always welcomed.

Saturday Serving times:11am, 1pm, 3pm.

Includes: Beverage, finger sandwiches, fresh fruit, dessert.

Price per child: $12

Adults:$6 a pot of tea and small teatime treats.

See the winners and all the creative entries in this annual contest. Categories include adults, teens, children, and senior citizens. Prizes will be awarded and announced at the Opening Ceremonies Friday evening.

Theatrical Producer, Brian Belge presents Dickens Company Players, a specially assembled troupe of professional performers who portray Dicken’s characters for an evening of old Old-time Parlor Games, Hilarious Skits, heart-warming Merry Music and Caroling, the Yorkshire Yawning Contest and of course, the traditional Yule Log Ceremony!

Horse-drawn Carriage Rides In addition to the regularly schedule carriage rides offered Friday evening, we they will be available on request to provide unique and intimate rides, whether you would like a special tour of the town, a carriage ride to your dinner reservation, or to the Opening Ceremony at the Elementary School.
